Cost: £60 Participants (limited to six places) & £15 Observers
Each participant will be able to access:-
- 40 minute dedicated slot to give them the opportunity to work with Stephen on a one to one basis on repertoire or orchestral excerpts of their choosing
- Access and opportunity to contribute to Stephen's two talks on a ‘Discussion about Awareness of the different roles in cello playing, ie; quartet, continuo and orchestral’ and also how musicians can move forward after the pandemic.

Stephen Orton was born in Ripon, Yorkshire, and studied with William Pleeth at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama. In 1985 Stephen became Principal Cello with the Academy of St Martin in the Fields where he regularly performed as soloist. At the age of 21 Stephen was the Principal Cello of the Bournemouth Sinfonietta and then a few years later was invited to be principal Cello in the City of London Sinfonia. He was a member of the Delmé Quartet for ten years, and has acted as Guest Principal Cello with the London Symphony Orchestra, Philharmonia and Royal Philharmonic orchestra. Stephen has wide experience of chamber music, being a member of the Academy Chamber Ensemble, touring internationally and making numerous recordings. He has often played the Schubert Quintet as guest cellist with many Quartets including the Chilingirian Quartet which he joined in 2013.
