Charlotte has enjoyed a varied career as a chamber musician, soloist and concertmaster.
She grew up in England where she studied with Mateja Marinković at Wells Cathedral School and then later at the Royal Academy of Music where she won the Franstein Violin Prize. Charlotte went on to study in Boston at the New England Conservatory with Eric Rosenblith and Donald Weilerstein. Charlotte was awarded a scholarship to attend IMS Prussia Cove for three years where she performed in concerts and masterclasses with Ida Haendl, Ferenc Rados and Valeria Szervánszky.Other masterclasses include Mauricio Fuks, Thomas Brandis, Sylvia Rosenberg, Zvi Zeitlin, Tibor Varga, Alexander Pavlovic.
Charlotte was the 1st violinist of the Piatti Quartet from 2006-2013, where they won numerous prizes and in 2012 were nominated for a prestigious Royal Philharmonic Award. The quartet studied Gunter Pichler for two years at the Escuala de Musica Reina Sofia. She also enjoyed an international concert schedule with the Piatti Quartet; venues included Wigmore Hall (live BBC Radio 3), Purcell Room, Madrid’s National Auditorium of Music and the Vienna Konzerthaus. Their discography includes recordings for LINN Records, Classical Label and Champs Hill. From 2013-2017 she was the 1st violinist of the Badke Quartet performing in venues including Wigmore hall, Concertgebouw and Esterhazy Palace. Charlotte also recorded numerous discs with the Badke Quartet. Charlotte is also a guest leader for the European Chamber Players and has been a guest at various international summer music festivals.
As a soloist she has performed with some of the leading UK orchestras and with her duo partner James Baillieu, she has performed in venues such as the Wigmore hall, Purcell Room Fairfield Hall and in various festivals throughout the UK. Charlotte has also collaborated with the Sacconi Quartet and Acoustic Triangle in the innovative ‘Three Dimensions’ UK concert tour.
Charlotte is a regular guest Concertmaster for various orchestras including the Scottish Chamber Orchestra, Royal National Scottish Orchestra, BBC Philharmonic where she has taken part in numerous live broadcasts and concerts at the BBC Proms. Charlotte has been Assistant Concertmaster at Oxford Philharmonic since 2015.
Charlotte holds a range of awards and prizes including the Croydon Concerto Competition- First Prize, Rosalie Inskip Award, Jerwood Foundation Award, MBF Award, Martin Musical Scholarship, Making Music Award.
